A highly sought after promotional item, these working* key finders were given out by Philips, the electronic giants, at the Dutch premier of ‘Daylights’.
The James Bond Fan Club in the UK managed to obtain a quantity of the surplus stock and offered them for sale to members at £10.00 each in 1988.
The following year, one unlucky US fan was offering £100 to anyone willing to part with their key finder!
*working = functioning as a key finder only and not emitting stun gas or containing an explosive charge as seen in the movie!!
Never Say Never Again Vinyl Soundtrack Album
An extremely obscure piece. No official soundtrack album was produced for this movie at the time of release in 1983. Daryl spotted this Japanese issue in a specialist record shop in 1985 for £30! Was this edition a good quality bootleg? It was from this LP that a more widely circulated (and most definitely pirated) cassette version was released circa 1986/7. It remained the only way of listening to Michel Legrand’s jazz score until 1992 when Silva Screen Records released a legitimate CD. In addition to the film’s soundtrack, the CD contains bonus tracks from the original recording sessions. This CD release has long since been deleted
